PEANUT BUTTER BANANA BREAD

Yup ... I did a lot of baking over the Christmas Holidays!  I enjoyed it so much that I'm now on a roll.  This was recently added to my arsenal which probably contributed to my success in the kitchen.

She's a real beauty and makes the entire process of creating divine treats a pleasure.  Hubs was surprised last night when I started assembling all my baking supplies, on a week night, to bake something.  Well that is no way to treat Betty Crocker ~ and I feel somewhat under-appreciated because I know many who never get the opportunity to ingest home-baked goodness.

What's on the menu you ask?  Peanut Butter Banana Bread!  A quick and easy recipe with a twist on the usual banana bread ... the addition of Chunky Peanut Butter.

First I creamed my butter, peanut butter & sugar.

This is easy with a KitchenAid!

Then I added my eggs, one at a time.

Can't have Banana Bread without the main ingredient!

I mixed my dry ingredients.

BAM!!!
That's right ladies...this is the year of living dangerously!  I'm throwing caution to the wind.
I added Chocolate Chips!
Why, you may ask?  Because who doesn't like chocolate!
One of the brilliant features of the KitchenAid is the ease of clean-up!

All done!

Mmmmm, delicious!

Enjoy!

Cheers - Lisa

  2. That banana bread looks yummy! I bet that mixer is a great help in the kitchen. I once told my husband, that if he ever got me a small kitchen appliance as a Christmas present, it would be instant divorce ( I was joking of course). Well this year I had a food processor on my Christmas wish list, so I guess I have changed over the years. I am not a very good cook, but these days, I try harder.

  10. Looks wonderful. I can almost smell it from here. That beauty was on my Christmas list. Until our 18 month old Maytag washer blew a motor and we discovered the company holding the warranty went bankrupt. And the motor went on the furnace. And just this week the alternator ignitor thingy on the furnace went. Yeah, so I guess it will have to wait.

  11. I just made banana bread tonight! Looks like I'll be making more soon and I agree, kitchen aid mixers make the job soooo easy! My mom and I call them 'Martha mixers', I think she made them pretty popular when her show first came out. (Martha that is, not my mom! : )

    Have a good night!

  16. That is so funny. I recently added one of those gems to my arsenal as well and this holiday, well let's just say BAKING is great fun. I love mine, although I haven't tried your clean-up method. I went to their website and learned that the paddle is supposed to be used for almost all mixing and the wire for egg whites. What this means is IT'S EVEN EASIER TO BAKE GREAT STUFF. I'm in love. Don't tell my husband. :)

    Have a great day!

  17. Never would have thought of using peanut butter in banana bread. Great idea. I often use various berries in mine, but might have to give this a shot.

  23. Oh...this looks very good, a brand new way to make banana bread and the addition of peanut butter and chocolate can't help but make it even better! I have had my Kitchenaid mixer for about 20+ years, it is still going strong and looks and works as good as new ~ I would be lost without it. Thank you for leaving such a nice comment on my blog.(-:

  27. The hubby bought me a new KitchenAid last year and I have to admit, I am a very bad girl ~ I found a home for it in a tall lower cupboard, and instead drag out my hand mixer because it's easier to get out of the drawer!! I know I need to use my KA more, it's such a lovely mixer, every woman's dream, huh? And I forgot how easy it would be for clean-up... heck I have 3 expectant faces vying for that job!! LOL

  28. I have to try this recipe!
Ok so more in common items, I am a dog nut! I would have a house full but right now we just have one. I mentioned I am away from home, I'm actually dogsitting for a friend.
I lived in Brampton when I was married, my ex was still there for a while but I understand he has since moved away. It's kind of like we swapped locations. Funny!
