October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
In 1990 my Mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She had undergone a hysterectomy several years prior and was being treated with hormones. The Doctor told her the cancer was an estrogen-based tumor. Within a few short days of her diagnoses, she underwent surgery for a mastectomy. Her surgery was followed up with chemotherapy.
Here is a current photo of my Mom.
She is now a 20 year survivor of this dreadful disease!
~It can be beaten~
So come on ladies, don't be shy ... bare your breasts and go for a mammogram.
Early detection is key.
Notice my Mom in this photo, bottom row, right-hand side. This picture was taken at Easter of this year 2010 - my entire family, Mom & Dad, all my siblings and their spouses, all the grandchildren and some now with their spouses.
~What a beautiful family - and one to be proud of~
A lot of living has been done in those 20 years!
Cheers ~ Lisa ~
